Middle Eastern Religions Considered as a Hollywood Movie Series

Think of it like a movie.  The Torah is the first one, and The New Testament is the sequel.  Then The Qu'ran comes out, and it retcons the last one like it never happened.  There's still Jesus, but he's not the main character anymore, and the messiah hasn't shown up yet.

Jews liked the first movie but ignored the sequels, the Christians think you need to watch the first two but the third movie doesn't count, Moslems think the third one was the best, and the Mormons liked the second one so much they started writing fanfiction that doesn't fit with ANY of the series canon.

I seem to have missed something

The Washington Times reports that the American Communist Lawyers' Union is all in a tizzy about a cross in the Mojave, which was erected as a memorial to fallen veterans.  It MUST go, they say, because it is offensive to non-Christians.

Possibly my memory is off here, but I thought being offensive was part of the sacred right of free speech, protected by the First Amendment.  Did that get changed?  If so, when?

And the angel said unto them, "Be not afraid!  For, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is inaugurated this day in the city of George a Saviour, which is B. Hussein Obama the President."  And since then, everything has been perfect.   (The Gospel According to CNN, Chapter 2, verses 8-11.)

Intelligence Test

Hey, Kids!  How's your code-breaking skills?  Can you decrypt the secret message hidden in this article?  Give it a try before you look down below for the answer.

If you got 'We're going to lie that illegal alien amnesty bill through, no matter what!', you're a cracker-jack junior cryptanalyst. Congratulations.

And the angel said unto them, "Be not afraid!  For, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is inaugurated this day in the city of George a Saviour, which is B. That'll Be the Day

The Israelis want something from the administration, namely "a timetable for negotiations" and "a firm commitment from Mr. Obama about what would happen if diplomacy doesn't persuade Iran to end uranium enrichment."  Instead, they got "a clear channel for communicating" about what they'll do if diplomacy "fails."  And that will happen when the deadline expires, the deadline being never.

        Whoop de doo.

And the angel said unto them, "Be not afraid!  For, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is inaugurated this day in the city of George a Saviour, which is B. An Unintentionally Correct Story Title

The Washington Times has a new story on the Obamessiah's reversal of his immigration policy.  They're right that it's a reversal, but only by accident.

The old policy was almost honest.  Obama disdained "enforcement", which was another way of saying that he was in favor of continued massive illegal immigration, and amnesty for the illegals already here.  Well, he's still in favor of those things, but he realizes that he'll have trouble selling that in today's political climate.  So now, he's in favor of "enforcement," but only as part of an amnesty bill.

Except, of course, that the "enforcement" won't take place, but the amnesty will.

The story notes that this policy is similar to McCain's and Bush Jr.'s policies.  That's correct.  They intended to sneak through amnesty and then sell out enforcement too.  They didn't fool anyone.  But President Empty Suit apparently thinks he can palm this fraud off on us, or just doesn't care whether we believe him.

But whatever his mental processes, if any, it's still the same policy — sneak through amnesty, continue massive illegal immigration.  It will be amusing to watch this play out.

And the angel said unto them, "Be not afraid!  For, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is inaugurated this day in the city of George a Saviour, which is B. Hussein Obama the President."  And since then, everything has been perfect.   (The Gospel According to CNN, Chapter 2, verses 8-11.)

hypocrisy, illegal immigration, dishonesty, border security, our new messiah™

Same Old Stuff

There's a New Democrat in the White House.  What does that mean?

Base on historical experience it means that it's:

        1) Time to talk about fiscal responsibility;
        2) Time to cut the military budget;
        3) Time to vastly increase domestic spending.

So how does my bold and fearless prophecy look?  Well, take a gander at this story.  Or don't, if you're in a hurry.  Here's the money grafs:
The administration identified $11.5 billion in discretionary program terminations and reductions for next year.  The Defense Department will take a $9.4 billion hit, constituting 82 percent of the cuts.  Defense accounts for 49 percent of spending on discretionary programs, which Congress must fund each year. . . .

"We can no longer afford to spend as if deficits do not matter and waste is not our problem," Mr. Obama said.

"These savings, large and small, add up," the president said. "None of this will be easy."
The $17 billion in total cuts represents less than one-half of 1 percent of the $3.6 trillion 2010 budget the president proposed in February, and it is less than 1 percent of this year's budget deficit.

While defense spending accounts for 19 percent of the federal budget, it would absorb 55 percent of $17 billion in total cuts.

Actually, I find the triviality, fecklessness, and transparent fraudulence of the excercise encouraging.  It shows that not even the White House can take this nonsense seriously.

I am SHOCKED, and I mean that sincerely

When it comes to crime and punishment, I am very hard nosed and unsympathetic to cons.  But the conduct referenced here outrages me.

What on earth do we have trials for?  And what happened to the Fifth Amendment's guarantee that: "No person shall be . . . deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law;"?  What in God's name kind of due process allows you to be, effectively, sentenced to prison for FORTY YEARS for crimes which you have been acquitted of committing?

That the Supremes uphold this nonsense is outrageous.  That Congress hasn't banned it is a greater crime than anything the defendents in the case were ever charged with.

And while this is going on, we're going to free terrorists from Guantanamo?  Beam me up, Scotty, there's no intelligent life here.

I sincerely hope you will write your Congresscritters to protest this incredible injustice.

A Revealing Look at What's Really Important

You might think it's really important to keep children from being sexually abused.  If so, you're wrong.  As this story shows, what's important is to protect criminals from the consequences of their crimes, as much as possible.

What, you say those aren't your priorities?  Well, you aren't really important either.  Sorry to have to be the one to break it to you.

And the angel said unto them, "Be not afraid!  For, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is inaugurated this day in the city of George a Saviour, which is B.
